Getting access to the RSC Moodle
The RSC East Midlands Moodle provides resources and facilities to enhance our service to learning providers across the East Midlands. You can access most of the materials and resources on the site without logging on. However, to get the greatest value from Moodle, you should create a user account. This will give you a username and password and, among other things, will allow you to take part in forums and receive automatic notfications of updates.
Creating an account is quick and simple. You can do it yourself by clicking the small blue "login" link in the top right-hand corner of the Moodle home page (the home page is accessed from the main menu on the RSC website - click "RSC Moodle", then select "Straight to Moodle"). This will take you to a page on which there is an option to "create a new account", together will full instructions on how to do so.
Once you have logged on to the system you can move around it freely within a single session, linking to external websites then back to Moodle without having to log back in. You should always log out when you have finished a session but, if you forget to do so, you will be logged out automatically after a fixed period of time.
Finding your way around
Navigating your way around Moodle is very much like using a website. Most of the time, this means simply clicking links. Very few areas have restricted access and links to external websites should open in a new browser window
[Important note] Whilst it is possible to use your browser buttons to navigate back through Moodle, it is strongly recommended that you use the Moodle navigation links. This will ensure that any changes the system needs to make as you use it will be stored. Moodle provides breadcrumb links to enable you to quickly jump back to previous pages (see below) - you'll find these in the top left of each each page.
